Some of the most bulky things to pack on a trip are shoes. On a short trip, my rule is wear one pair, bring one pair. It's actually best to start by choosing shoes when you pack. The shoes can determine your color scheme and which outfits go best with those shoes.
Really? Just two pair of shoes? It can be done ... mostly. I understand that sometimes you need specialty shoes on your trip. For example, if you are in training for a marathon, you need your high-quality running shoes. In my case, I often need my tap or ballet shoes. I fully understand the reasons for bringing an extra pair of shoes in those cases. However, bringing separate shoes for every outfit of your trip soon leads to heavy, bulky bags. Find the middle ground.
